On May 12-13 2010, in the framework of “OGU 2010” NHC “Uzbekneftegaz” in cooperation with international oil and gas partners organized an international oil-gas conference entitled “Investments and innovations in the oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan”.
The Center for Political Studies participated in the conference, presenting at plenary meetings two reports on topics: “The world economy and its impact on energy exports of Central Asia” and “Central Asia-China” gas pipeline: diversification of export flows”.
The event was attended by over five hundred experts from thirty countries. The conference focused on the issue of further development of industrial and technological potential of Uzbekistan in the sphere of oil and gas industry.
The experts exchanged views on the status and prospects for enhanced cooperation, in particular, on measures to improve production capacity by attracting foreign investment and adoption of new advanced innovative technologies.
Discussions were also devoted to several promising areas of cooperation in the sphere of establishment of production of synthetic fuel (GTL), new opportunities to expand the network of domestic and export gas flows.
During the conference, international experts noted existing favorable investment climate in Uzbekistan, created in order to attract foreign capital in key sectors, including oil and gas sector.
