On May 24-28, 2010 the Center for Political Studies jointly with the UN Development Program in Uzbekistan organized in Tashkent training-course on the theory and practice of public diplomacy.
The participation of the course included about 30 experts and prospective cadres, in particular, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade (MFERIT), Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Academy for State and Society Formation (ASSF), CPS, as well as undergraduates of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).
Module of the training included theoretical and practical lessons on the basics of public diplomacy, technology of providing elements of global communication, concept of the “soft power”, advanced methods of development and planning an effective strategy for public diplomacy, efforts of establishing contacts with the foreign audience, visits of the press, means to news monitoring, newspapers publications, as well as contemporary challenges of national branding and promotion of a favorable image on the international arena.
The training was held with the participation of the international consultant on public relations, Ms. Ehtel Halliste, who along with the theoretical basics of public diplomacy, also shared with a solid professional experience in this field.
