IMF issues advisory note on poverty reduction strategy paper for Uzbekistan

The International Development Association and the International Monetary Fund have issued a joint staff advisory note (JSAN) of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper for the Republic of Uzbekistan, prepared jointly by the staffs of the World Bank and the IMF.

The objective of the JSAN is to provide focused, frank, and constructive feedback to the country on progress in implementing its Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS).

The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan formally adopted its first Welfare Improvement Strategy (WIS), covering the period 2008-2010, in September 2007 and transmitted the document to the International Development Association (IDA) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
